Reading is food for the soul..

Here’s a card I made yesterday. I never used these color’s and thought I should give it a try. Over at saturated canary the challenge is to be inspired by a book, who’s not inspired by a good read right? I’m currently reading “Packing for Mars” It’s a pretty funny read. Things about space no one really thinks of questioning, like how the astronauts showered. Well they didn’t on the Apollo, and it’s pretty darn funny that their underwear disintegrated! So here is my card I tried gold embossing around the edges, it came out ok. I just love this image from Saturated canary. I would like to enter my card in

Quickest Blog Candy EVER!!

I have been saying for a while now that I have some candy to share with you. It’s crazy how much time taking a picture and posting it could take. Furthermore, since I have never offered blog candy I was wondering how I would link it etc. It got to be to dang complicated. So my thought was that candy should be given the way it’s eaten (at least the way I eat it) You dream about it for a minute, put it your mouth and it’s gone before you know it. So with that being said here is the candy.. (plus more, I just couldn’t photograph it all)

I will pick a winner in 3 days, so on march 16th. All you have to do is leave a comment and *(if you know how to)* post the picture of the candy and link it to my blog on your side bar, that would be great. Be sure to check back on the 16th to see if you won! I would love for you to be a follower, but that is not necessary to win this candy. Be sure to include your name on the comment section. At this time I can only ship within the US. Good luck ~ Angela

Footloose

Boy, am I taking advantage of my spring break! I am trying to get the most I can into this short week. I know the need for this card will be here sooner than later, and I wanted to make sure I had it ready for the occasion. One of my dearest friends is going through a divorce, and although this is not a happy time in her life, it’s important I help her see the good in the bad. I feel good when I can make her laugh. Her divorce will be final soon, and so the inside will say, “I believe it’s time for an upgrade!” I added my own writing for the sentiment; I just didn’t have time to fuss with my printer. I just say I love this image! So cute, and I am pleased with the way my card turned out, although coloring reds are always a challenge for me. I would love to enter my card in the Whiff of joy sketch challenge #149. So here it is.. and Thanks for Looking ~

Hi Blog Friends. I am in the process of taking pictures of some yummy blog candy. I have a lot to be grateful for, and I just want to share that with some one. Another thing going on is, I am in the midst of a crafting crisis, lmbo. In all seriousness, I just don’t know if I am going to continue crafting. I’ll speak more on that in a later post. But for today, I just wanted to have a little fun. Tilda is always so much fun to color up. I am entering this card in these challenges:

My Beautiful Disaster

Ok Lets, be serious, I really don’t know what to make of this card. Because sometimes I just don’t feel like conforming to status quo, because sometimes I like being me. Imperfect in many ways, with lots of mistakes that sometimes aren’t meant to be covered up. The disastrous parts of our lives, that we’d most like to forget, but are proud of them at the same time because we some how managed to get through them. Sometimes in life we intend to do one thing, while a higher power above is laughing out loud as it deals us another round of cards. I hope you can appreciate where I am coming from. Just yesterday I saw a group of people doing a routine in the courtyard. I got so excited I yelled out loud OMG it’s a flash mob!! Only after I said it, and with great embarrassment, realized it was a quiet group of people doing Ti-chi. Well, I could have died but I didn’t, and 5 minutes later another guy walked up and yelled out the same thing.. Smile leaving me to feel like only 1/2 the idiot I thought I was! Life is great, including all the things that happen unintentionally, Kind of like this card.

And I would like to enter this in Saturated canary challenge 36, Color inspiration.. Stay tuned I will being having some really cool blog candy soon. Till then, be you and I’ll most certainly be me Winking smile

A Winning for the Record!

Hi Blog Friends, I hope your year has been great thus far. I still need to get 2013 in my head, I want to keep saying 2012 for some reason. Although 2012 was a good year to begin with, the end got pretty tough. My cousin passed away unexpectedly in October (just 3 weeks shy of his 30th birthday) and then a good friend/ neighbor passed away, and right before Christmas my daughter’s tutor who became a family friend passed on. I know that is a lot of sadness, but on the other hand, I know they are in a better place than we are. I know they had the best Christmas ever by god’s side. The reason I bring this up, not too long after I started winter break, Krista over at saturated canary had a Pinterest inspiration contest. Basically, inspire her to draw something she liked as much as you. At that minute I created a board in honor of my cousin, he was a DJ. Here is my inspiration: http://pinterest.com/socalmom76/saturated-canary-inspiration/  Even though my cousin was a male, I had this vision already imprinted in my mind. I knew if I won it would be in his honor anyway because he would have loved it too. Girl DJ’s are at the top of hotness chart, are they not?

Then I got a double surprise, Krista paired mine up with a Male character, and I immediately knew I was in love!! I can not thank Krista enough, she is the BIGGEST Sweetheart ever. Not just for this contest but she is always such a giving person and I truly admire that about her.

*Krista did a super job on this set I LOVE everything about it. I would never dream of changing it, but tomorrow I am going to my cousins graveside to leave him this card, and I wanted to make it personalized. I made the boy curly dreads like my cousin’s hair, and added his name on the sleeve. It was also hard not to girly it out so much, I added some bling for her equipment and earphones. I made little records for embeliies and the zebra print across is duct tape (the patterned kind).

Here is a closer look:

And here is DJ FuzzOne himself rocking the beats:

I am entering my card in this weeks challenge which is song inspiration at the saturated canary

The song inspiration is (lol, my cousin would laugh at me for this) but.. Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj, Beauty and a Beat. Thank you for looking and Krista if you see this, Thank you so VERY much you made more than my day in so many ways.
